I do not and cannot work for free.
I cannot keep a roof over my head or food on the table if I don’t charge for the time, expertise and equipment I use, even if it’s for a good cause. I am also very hesitant to work for charities who do ask creatives to work for free, as maintaining a healthy working relationship includes mutual respect and understanding.
I also do not recommend other creatives or freelancers for projects with zero budgets or “exposure” in lieu of payment.
I do work with selected charities and causes at a discounted rate, however, I am currently not taking on any new projects of that nature until October 2017.
